America's still in the Bush

George W. Bush re-elected president of the United States of America.

Good grief.

I'm sitting at home, suffering from the flu, watching CNN and I can't believe it. Last night, when I went to bed (pretty early thanks to the cold & flu tablet), the race was tight. Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and the entire West coast hadn't reported, so it was Bush 51% and Kerry 49%.

Now, after waking up from a midday nap, I'm hearing that Kerry will make his concession speech in a few minutes and I must ask this question: What the heck is wrong with the American public?

Bush won the popular vote. Hello, that means people like him or they believe he's the lesser of two evils. I guess the majority of them wanted the same as they had during these past four years:

  • hostages making television pleas so that their lives can be saved
  • sending more young men and women to Iraq to fight in a war that has no end
  • a soft economy (since when has the Canadian dollar been above $0.80?)
  • Halliburton making a 'killing' on the backs of the innocent (Iraqis and Americans)
  • Bin Laden lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce

CNN said that people were voting on morals vs. issues. The Republicans are hard on abortion, same sex marriage, stem cell research, etc. and there is nothing wrong with that. But morality has a lot to do with trying to deceive the world community and your own people -- encouraging them to back a war founded lies. That has a lot to do with the morality of the man, and the government, the majority of Americans voted for last night.

But there was one positive thing that came out of the 2004 Presidential Election: thousands of youth were empowered to vote and voice their opinions about who should run their country. I don't agree with their decision, but, hey, I ain't an American, so it's all good. That's the beauty of democracy -- people don't have to agree with your decision, you have a right to choose.

This is a short blog. I'm going to get some juice, recuperate and go back to bed.

Urban Sista:

I couldn't agree with you more.

The Americans have no idea what they're doing, but it's their country to ruin. That's exactly what will happen. Four mo(urn) years of Bush is bound to burn the country. Mark my words.

It's interesting, because over the course of today, I had the opportunity to chat -- passionately I might add -- with fellow colleagues about 'what in the world were Americans thinking' when they pressed a keypad minus the hanging chads. I came to a few conclusions:

- Americans are gluttons for punishment. No matter how bad it is. They act like they are in an abusive relationship and fail to leave while the 'gettin' is good'. The gettin' was good last night, but sadly, they chose to stay with the spouse who's beating them. Classic battered wife syndrome.

- Americans figure that Hilary Rodham Clinton will come to save the day in election race for 2008. She'll be a saving grace to the whole world if she throws her hat into the race four years from now.

-Americans don't really care about Osama Bin Laden. I mean, they know he's in a cave after all. Isn't that enought? Does it really matter if they don't catch him? I mean, if you've seen one cave, you've seen them all -- right?

-Americans are lemmings. Yes, lemmings and they will do, say and jump off whatever you tell them to. It doesn't matter whether you tell the issues are God, guns and gays. Say it often enough they'll believe it and gosh darn it - yes they'll vote for you!

- These are the last four years this jerk will ever have in office. Period!

Americans have voted for a man whose left them with little money in their pocket, jobs that pay less than minimum wage and a prescription bills a mile long.

I'm only scratching the surface. My brain is just reeling over this turn of political events.

It's so interesting that Americans have voted for a man not for his intelligence, strategic skills and knowledge of the world -- especially when they've practically waged war around the world, instead they chose a man based on his personal values. Since when is this a requirement?

Let's face it, we all have values (or at least we should), but it's an individual thing. Had I had the opportunity to cast a ballot last night, I would have wanted someone in power who's intelligence was greater than mine, not someone who believes in God more than I do.

It's just so screwed up, but as you said Urban Sista, it's their country and good luck to them all. Just don't bring your dirty baggage to Canada. That's all I ask.

I am quite glad that the Americans picked Bush.

Now he can "try" to clean up his own mess. Kerry would have been so overwhelmed and wouldn't know where to start cleaning up Bush bloody mess.

Watch what's going to happen.....

Its going to be so hard in a good couple of elections to come for the Republicians to get back into office, all because of this fool, Americans won't be able to trust this party.
